Pantry Staples & Ingredients
This spice combination has its own special magic. Evocative of exotic culinary journeys. I find that it can almost effortlessly imbue sauces grilled meats and veggies with authentic asian notes. It also happens to be a power house of anti inflammatory goodness. Each of these ingredients is an anti inflammatory in its own right!
Ingredients:
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon.
- 1 teaspoon crushed anise seed or 1 star anise, ground.
- 1 teaspoon crushed fennel seed.
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper (or 1/4 teaspoon Szechuan pepper)
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves.
Steps:
- Place all of the spices into a spice grinder (I use a coffee grinder that i keep for the purpose).
- Pulse for a minute or two or until finely ground.
