Pantry Staples & Ingredients
An incredible evocative spice mix from Southern Africa. Use in ground meat dishes for an unusual, delicious flavor and scent.
Ingredients:
- 8 tbsp whole coriander Seeds
- 1 tsp whole pepper corns (multicolored if possible)
- 4 whole cloves
- 2 tsp of allspice berries
- 1 large tsp fresh ground nutmeg (grate the nutmeg before you add it)
- 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/4 tsp cardamom seeds
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp of brown sugar
- Coffee grinder / electric herb grinder
Steps:
- Put all of the ingredients in the herb grinder and pulse until powdered evenly.
Tips:
Use 2 tablespoons of the spice powder - per 1lb of ground meat.
Tips:
Makes great meatballs, kebobs, sausages, shepherds pie etc.
