Venue

Situated on a low rise,  in the hilly Gers, the Chateau Orangery is an elegant and yet rustic country venue for special events.

Built in the 16th Century as an Armagnac barn, it was converted in the 17th Century to be a conservatory.

A structure of some social importance for the well-to-do aristocratic de Batz de Castelmore family, who built it.  It was both a place for growing the exotic fruits more commonly seen in hotter climates, and perhaps also a quiet place to relax or entertain.

Seven graceful arches,  open to the breeze, frame a southerly view of olive and cypress trees.

The interior walls are of a rustic heavily patinated plaster, the floor of painted concrete.

Seven meters high, the great timbers of the Orangery roof,  span the space above.  Seven grand, empire style chandeliers, glitter and twinkle in the night.  This space combines country comfort, historic charm, an abundance of style, and more than a little glamour.

Approximately 150m2,  (22m wide by 7m deep), with space for approximately 100 seated guests, the venue can accommodate quite large groups.

As a bare rental, without further services, the Chateau Orangery rents for E2,000 per 48 hours.

The Chateau Orangery is currently undergoing renovations, but we are taking reservations for Spring 2024.

Available Services include:

• Catering – E60 – E100 per person (excluding beverages / alcohol) – Depending on menu.
• Wine, Champagne and Beer – E10  – E40 per adult.
• Floral – depending on event requirements. E1500 – E5000
• Cleaning – E3 per guest.  (Our cleaners) Additional fees may be charged if confetti is used.
• Cake – E400 – E1500 depending on size and event requirements.
• DJ – E1000 – E2000 depending on length of time required.
• Bar – E50 – E150 per person – assuming a minimum of 30 people, and depending on alcohol provided, and open hours.
• Wedding Planner – E2000 – E4000 depending on the size of the event and the services required.
• Live Music (local professional musicians: Band, Opera singer, Soloists: Cello, Contemporary Vocalist, Guitar etc.) – E 500 – E3000 depending on requirements.
• Equipment Rental, (tables, chairs, tents, sofas, arches etc.) E600 – E3500 – Depending on requirements
• Celebrant E500 – E1000
• Photographer – E1000 – E4000

For 100 guests and a full service event, including venue rental, all listed services, but excluding accommodation: Prices range from approximately E20,000 upwards.
